A Ticket to Memories

posted by Alvin Chan

While I was cleaning my room the other day, I managed to dig this out from nowhere.
Ticket 1
Kind of faded off eh the words, it reads “Linkin Park Live In Kuala Lumpur”.

Yeah this ticket reminds me back then in Year 2003, right after our PMR exams, me, Jian Pang, his brother, Queenie and her brother went of for Linkin Park concert show at Merdeka Stadium.

Ticket 2
And the date was 15th October 2003.

Back then we were from the same tution center, Tutorial Lee in Taipan. Jian Pang, the usual himself, lead the way from KTM station Subang and through Monorail before we reach the full-packed Merdeka Stadium. We bought the best tix out there, earning us a decent place to view the Linkin Parks performing that night together with Too Phat.

Memories do leave a scar in the heart, or sweet scent. In this case, it’s a sweet scent though. One minute we were all booing with the crowd for Too Phat’s lengthen time of performance which make the whole concert looks rather like Too Phat concert than a Linkin Park concert. I, Jiang Pang and Queenie were already reckless by then and we moved down from our seats and join the crowd in calling out Linkin Park. The Energy was there for us to shout till our throats gone soundless.

Queenie can get hype out fully very fast when the crowd and enviroment is right. When the Linkin Parks were on their instruments and rocking the floor, there was total chaos. Everywhere in the stadium was only pure rocking feel and the next thing we know, I and Jian Pang were already rocking at our seats too. No one actually sits on the seats and we rather stand so we can actually enter Euphoria.

The best songs played during the concert was of cause their best song of all, “Numb”. It kinds of cool down everyone in the stadium who were getting wild due to the previous played song. “Numb” has a soothing somber rhytm which quell us down and to end the concert that day.

And of cause, I managed to get lots of posters and merchandises back home that day. I can see that of all of us went that day, no one went back with a down expression. Hope we meet someday, somewhere in life, Queenie, Jian Pang. Friends forever.

Hazey Jaya

posted by Alvin Chan

I present to you Hazey Jaya, the popular spot in Malaysia to be affected by worst API index in penisular Malaysia. It was renamed from Subang Jaya to reflect it’s characteristic of showing the highest hazardous Air Polution Index by Meteorological Services Department Malaysia.

Yesterday Subang Jaya was recorded as having only 1KM of visibility, ranking it together as some of the worst affected places in East Malaysia such as Sibu.

Visibility 1KM
Usually we are able to view the buildings and structures from this angle and distance clearly, even seeing cars as miniatures moving slowly along the highways. This week is very bad for us Subang Jaya-ians, clouded in doomed haze.

On top of that, the sky hired a baby to paint it today, using a gloomy grey color only for today.
One Color Sky

Malaysians, especially we, Subang Jaya-ians are taking in burning smells for the past days, due to our neighbour SMOKING HEAVILY!. It’s very bad right now, I don’t feel like moving out of the house too much these days either. Mum is already coughing pretty bad right now due to the burning smells and haze choking her throat.

Even the almighty Sun was almost clouded by the haze, with part of it’s rays reflected back even before reaching Earth land.
Sun rays reflected

A close look at it, it looks like an eclispe, or a glowing fire orb.
Flares

and it resembles this!

Jonker Street Melaka

posted by Alvin Chan

It was a BAD MOVE to go downtown or uptown in the evening these days. There’s the after work traffic jamming session, and to add salt on wound, the Buka Puasa session, which managed to almost halt the entire traffic system in Melaka town.

Buka Puasa
These stalls are filling up the road, making the traffic worst with irresponsible patrons parking their car in the middle of the road like their grandpa owns them.

Second Cross Street
Entered Jonker Street through Second Cross Street, which in Mandarin version, means ‘Taufu Street’ or Bean curd Street. Wonder why they would name their streets with such strange names.

Packed Jonker Walk
And yea, it’s very pack inside there, with lots of things to buy and lots of things to wash your eyes.

Crystal Seller
These crystals were expensive, a small size of crystal costs RM8.00 already. Then again, how do we differ genuine crystals with the fakes?

Amazing Cutter
I was amused by this particular stall which sells a 7-in-1 pack of cutters. True to it, these cutters can cut many vegetables and fruits into many creative styles, especially the lotus style. It’s a MUST HAVE for Kitchen Lovers.

T-Shirts
Some of the T-shirts displayed on sale. I must say, some of these shirts should not even be make. It’s such an insult to westerners for scolding them in a language they do not understand and asking them to buy it just to make fun of themselves. Totally thrashed!

Jonker Walk in Melaka does give you a better feeling compared to the Jonker Walk in Kuala Lumpur. Building of the overhead shade in Jonker Walk KL really doomed the business there, drawing less visitors to it.

Pasar Malam in Melaka

posted by Alvin Chan

Holding a Pasar Malam near residential areas or commercial areas often will cause residents to complain of its unhygienic enviroment created from Pasar Malam. That is why the Pasar Malam in Subang Jaya shifted from the long stretch of road covering all sides of the apartment opposite Sin Tong Nan up till the KFC at SS15. The new place for Pasar Malam to be held is at the Industrial area at SS 13, just behind the flats.

Regardless of that, the Pasar Malam in Malim Jaya, Melaka is held just less than 50 metres from the nearest residential house, and spans throughout all the roads covering the commercial area which serves as a main entrance into the residential area of Jalan Zahir.

The Crowd
The crowd at Malim Jaya’s Pasar Malam isn’t as bad as those in Subang Jaya’s Pasar Malam.

However, you can see more joggers, aged man and womans walking around looking at the stalls slowly. This would be different in Subang Jaya where the enviroment is so tense with people rushing back from work and want to finish buying their goods at a faster pace. The enviroment feeling of this 2 Pasar Malam really is different.

No Customer
Even though the seller is trying hard to convince people through her loudspeaker, but still none stop by to look at her goods.

Oil, The Heart Blockage
This is the source of Heart attack, High Blood Pressure. Recycle oil is the worst kind of oil which no one should ever consume it because it cloaks your blood vessel.

3 Monkeys
And I saw 3 kids playing among themselves on top of their father’s van while their parents were busy attending customers.

Handicap who begs with hand
Sometimes, I just don’t get these type of people. They have both functioning hands to move themselves with wheelchair, yet they do not let their hand work some crafting or skills to earn a living, but BEG a living. I do not think they are worth a single cent to pledge for our sympathy. Shame on them!

He needs some help too
He needs welfare society’s help too to enable him to sit or stand upstraight before he begs. He lost an arm and a leg already.

VCD Seller
And of cause, the infamous VCD sellers in Malaysia. And they are one of the few stalls who received the most patrons too. Malaysia Boleh huh?
