Priority

posted by Alvin Chan

You know how life is when you get out of high school and enter the society. There’s many many things for you to do and yet very very few time for you to utilize. Over the times, you are the subject of gossips from old friends where you ditch them aside, some will understand, but most won’t.

This is life. In the process of pursuing success in life, we all move forward, whether it’s a big step, or a small step. But the main point is, we are moving forward. I do not blame them for telling their tales about me, because it’s a fact that I do contact some of them less as time goes on. I’m just a human with 2 legs and cannot be at 2 places at the same time.

However, it would always be nice to get in touch with old friends again and brag about what you have been doing while you are missing in action. You may also realize most of them, like you change, and it’s always a nice feeling to see how much they change.

But it’s also a good plus if we can prioritize our schedule and balance up time allocated for old friends and new friends. This way, we won’t lose them all, and gain more fun, at the cost of your troublesome brain cells to think up the best plan for your time though. I’m bad at this point, as I can hardly find time much for closest friends in high school. But it’s good news I’m prioritizing them right now.

Keeping Alive During Revision Time

posted by Alvin Chan

Couple of days ago, since Monday till now, I had been living a different lifestyle, all for the sake of studying for the exams. The biggest drawback from doing revision is to get Knockout on your bed at anytime during the wee hours of the day. So, I came up with some measures to counter this Knockout effect, and it helps somehow, with the side effect of getting Knockout in the morning like a dead fish.

First off, this is my study table, covered in white notes.
Messy Table
At that time, I was doing some Accounting questions, and started to doze abit after a consistent time of revisioning.

So, I opened up my weapon for keeping alive.
Pringles
Pringles lets you crunch it in your mouth and has a salty taste in it, refreshes your mind and exercises your gums at the same time. You just won’t doze off that easily with Pringles in your mouth as you do your revision.

And to add on it, I have a cup of hot herbal tea, Ho Yan Hoh.
Herbal Tea
Do not underestimate the power of traditional medicine prescription. After eating Pringles, all you need is one mug of Ho Yan Hor tea and few glasses of water for the rest of the day and you will not catch a heat in your body anymore. Besides, the bitterness of Ho Yan Hor tea without sugar added will just hinder you from sleeping.

After my slight snack time, it’s time to continue my revision, with some sweets in my mouth ofcourse.
Hudson's
That’s right, Hudson’s sweet have a lasting taste in your mouth, be it lemon, herbal or lime flavour, and it feel’s just right to study after eating it.

And this method can lasted me for a couple of hours before I KO’ed in bed for the next couple of hours, immune to my alarm clock too. Try it at your own risk :D

On a side note as of writing time, Streamyx is driving me crazy, over the week it has been a slow crawl in download and upload speed. According to them, they are having some sort of upgrading sessions, and somehow their time of work is so out of range.

And here is the ping that I get from www.yahoo.com
Ping
400 to 600ms! And look at the frequent timeouts, something really is very wrong with you TMnet!

Instead of writing that damn time frame of 12am to 6am, you might as well write “The Upgrade Session Will Commence 24 hours throughout this Date Frame”. This will at least notify consumers like us what is going on, and not calling through customer careline 24 hours and asked about the slowdowns during the off upgrading time-sessions. Honesty is the best policy, hope you learn it TMnet.
