Japan Noir
The images below were captured by the Leica Q2 Monochrom, one of the heritage camera maker’s ultra-minimalist black & white-only digital models. When shooting with either black & white film, or by using a camera like this, you see the world differently. You look for different photographic opportunities. What makes for a beautiful colour photograph can be very different from what it takes to capture a striking black and white image.
The kind of perspective shifting that one learns when exploring these two formats has a parallel to how we can might think better in our daily lives. When we look at ambitions and challenges through different points of view, we tend to discover new insights and additional possibilities.
